CMS Updates for Physician and Hospital Fee Schedules, RBRVS, Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System
CMS has published 2018 updates for the Physician and Hospital Fee Schedule, RBRVS and the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System. Experian Health will ensure that your Medicare contract records will be updated and available in Contract Manager, Contract Analysis, Patient Responsibility Pricer, Patient Estimates and Claim Scrubber by Jan. 1, 2018.
Effective Jan. 1, 2018, valuations for Contract Manager, Patient Responsibility Pricer, Patient Estimates and Claim Scrubber will begin with the new physician conversion factor of $35.9996, a hospital conversion factor of $35.9996 and a national anesthesia conversion factor of $22.1887. In addition, valuations for Contract Manager for Hospitals and Health Systems will use the latest published wage indices, APC weights and rates and fee schedules until the new grouper is received and loaded from 3M. This upload is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 30, 2017.

Experian Health will perform a duplicate “rollover” of our Hi-Def Benefit Rules Servers on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, between 11:30p.m. and 12:30a.m. CT (Thursday, October 19). During this time, our Benefit Rules Servers will be offline. Please understand that this maintenance represents only a very limited number of our clients being affected, if any. However, in the event you experience potential transaction issues with Patient Estimates, Alerts, or Payer Content, please contact our support team at email@example.com.

The Experian Health technical teams are actively working and believe they have a solution to the issue. The fix has been applied to one of the servers which appears to be responding well and they are actively applying to the remaining servers. Updates will be posted here as we have them.

The Experian Health technical teams are aware of an issue that is causing intermittent access issues and various errors trying to access the Patient Self-Service patient portal.

[3:00pm CT] This issue has been resolved as of 3:00pm CT.
[1:03pm CT] Our Technical team is still working on a resolution to the slow processing with Patient Estimates. There are estimates that are processing, but we are still trying to determine root cause for the slowness.
[11:40am CT] Experian Health’s Technical team is working on the processing slowness with eCare NEXT Patient Estimates. We will continue to post updates on this dashboard as they come. We apologize for the inconvenience.
